Abstract

The study examined the French influence in West and Central Africa, which faced an unprecedented threat due to rapid transformations and France's failure to solve worsening problems such as terrorism and poverty. This led to the rise of radical regimes hostile to its policies and the decline of its historical influence in favor of other international powers such as Russia, China, and Turkey. The study reviewed the strategic importance of the African continent to France and analyzed the security, political, and economic challenges that led to the recession of this role, reaching the conclusion that France is no longer the sole international and influential actor in the region
